Methodology
How programs are chosen
We list widely used homeschool curricula, online schools, course providers, co-ops and tutoring platforms that describe their offering on an official website. Inclusion is free and isn't for sale.
How facts are sourced
Each field (price, grades, accreditation, faith stance and style) comes from the provider's official page and is recorded with its source URL and check date (2026-10-17 for this edition). Prices are recorded exactly as shown. A yearly starting figure is computed only when the page states a yearly, monthly or per-item price. Anything we couldn't verify is marked "unknown." State pages link only to official government sources.
How the quiz scores matches
Each answer adds or subtracts points:
- Grade within range: +30 (outside the range: −40)
- Style: +20 for each matching style
- Budget: +15 under budget, −30 over, −5 if the price is unknown
- Faith: +15 for a match, −25 for a mismatch
- Accreditation need: +15 or −20
- Live vs self-paced: +10
- Parent time: +10 for a good fit, −10 for a poor fit
The total is scaled to a 0–100% match. Parent-involvement levels are our estimates based on program type and are labeled as such. The state answer adds a link to that state's official source but doesn't change scores.

Freshness and corrections
We recheck prices at least quarterly and update check dates. Corrections are applied once they are verified on an official page.
